This is my new OC: Antarctica!
She is my OC for the anime and web comic Hetlaia. I originally was going to post on the first of December, but I was busy with college.

Antarctica is a young teenage girl with pale skin, short brown hair tied back in two low ponytails by blue scrunchies and big fuchsia pink eyes. She wears a purple WWII military uniform, a grey shirt and tie, and black boots. In her hair she wears two snowflake hairclips, pulling back some of her bangs out of her face.

As a child, she wore a long blue winter cloak with white fur linings, blue gloves, a blue shirt and navy blue pants underneath, and black boots. She also wore a big blue bow on her head.

Personality and Interest

In the past when she was a chibi and The Antarctic Treaty was not created yet, Antarctica was mysterious and distant. She didn't know how to talk so she use hand gestures and body language to communicate with other beings. But after The Treaty was signed and she starts to meet some of the countries, Antarctica is now kind, hard-working and has an adaptable attitude that tends to charm people. She loves her friends, science, hot chocolate, and her icy land. Even though she is her own boss, she still listens to other people’s (scientists and other countries) thoughts and opinions on how things should work on her land. Her hobbies involve drawing, jogging, cooking and playing with her penguin companion, Krystal ^[4].

Antarctica is also known to be peaceful and doesn’t want to do anything with militaries and anything that involves violence ^[5]. But when she does get involved in a fight, she would either flee (80% chance will happen), or fight back with her fists, kicks, and bites (10% chance will happen) if the attacker physically attacks/harasses her ^[6].

According to a rumor by almost every country in South America and Oceania, Antarctica has no memories of the past, meaning that she is not aware of how exactly her land works and what kind of mystery her land has hiding. Thus, making Antarctica come off as mysterious and distant. And another rumor was spread by some countries was that Antarctica might have ice powers; theorizing as to why Antarctica’s land is 99% ice and was once warm and tropical. When Antarctica heard about that rumor, her first response was “Who said that?” in a shock and confused way (adding more to Antarctica’s mysterious and distant behavior. Making the rumor true by theory but it's not conformed).

Antarctica is extremely skilled in the math (algebra, trigonometry, BEDMAS, etc.) and science (biology, chemistry, and physics), but she is poorly skilled in writing and music (she can’t play any musical instrument to save her life, but she is a descent singer).

The languages Antarctica knows how to speak, understand, write, and read are English, French, Russian and Spanish.

Truthfully, Antarctica knows a lot of countries and is acquaintance/friends with them.

Trivia

• Despite being surrounded by water, Antarctica cannot swim.
• Antarctica breasts are flat because it’s due to the population on her land. But in later seasons (Beautiful World series, World Twinkle series), the population grew and thus make Antarctica have small breasts.
• Antarctica has a fist-sized birthmark on her back in the shape of her land. She nicknamed her birthmark the “South Pole”.
• What Antarctica likes: Her land, ice and snow, hanging out with her friends, helping people out, science, warmth (sometimes) ^[7], the cold, cooking, art, traveling
• What Antarctica dislikes: Her land in danger, violence, her friends in trouble/fighting, flash photography, global warming
• Antarctica wears contact lens.
• Antarctica originally had long hair before the Antarctica Treaty System was been operated.
  

Facts

(1): The hidden meaning behind Antarctica’s human name comes from some of the elements on her land: “Aurora” comes from the southern light that appears in the Antarctic region, the aurora australis. “Frost” obviously comes from the “Land of Frost”.

(2): Antarctica was discovered in 1773, and she's a continent, so it would make sense that she’s young.

(3): The Antarctic Treaty System was opened for signature on December 1, 1959. The twelve countries that had significant interests in Antarctica at the time were: America, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, England, France, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, and the Soviet Union.

(4): Like most country who have pets of their own (even the ones that can talk), Antarctica’s penguin friend, Krystal, is a baby emperor penguin with a cyan winter hat. Even though Krystal is a baby penguin, she is wise and helps Antarctica out when she was a child.

(5): Because the Antarctic Treaty, which came into effect on June 23 1961, officially prohibits military activity in Antarctica, military personnel and equipment may only be used for scientific research or any other peaceful purpose (such as delivering supplies) on the continent.

(6): Going back in time, when Antarctica was young, she needed to learn how to survive. So that means she needed to learn how to hunt. Thanks to Krystal, seals and other Antarctic animal’s help, Antarctica learned how to hunt for food by using her hands and teeth.

(7): While Antarctica is the coldest place on Earth, she, in most time, enjoys the feeling of warmth either physical and/or mentally. She states “it’s a nostalgic felling, like I’ve feel it before”.
